Lawyer and Historian. PhD in History from  Florida International University. Professor/Researcher from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia Sede Amazonas in Leticia.

His research interests are focused on political ecology, regional development, globalization and governance, equity and society, and environmental history. He has developed strategic plans from the development of science and technology, projects on the environmental history of Latin America, studies on urban environments, political ecology and climate change, and social sciences.

In the program Partners for Conservation in the Colombian Amazon he is the representative from the Universidad Nacional sede Amazonia and coordinates the activities for that region.
